What does it take for people to be able to use their Individual Taxpayer Identification Number to purchase a home? Judith Diaz joined us recently to explain.
First off, you will need two years of tax documents. You’ll also need established credit, as well as the ITIN we mentioned previously. You can do this through a secure card at certain banks.
Finally, you will need to have two consecutive years of employment history in the same field. This is very similar to requirements for those that aren’t using ITINs. However, this program allows people who are living illegally in the country and are paying their taxes to establish credit and buy a home here in the U.S.
